What is Pinterest?
Some people may call Pinterest a social media site. But it is far from that. I had never really used Pinterest before I stared blogging so it was all new to me. It turns out, blogging is just like a visual search engine. You search a term just like you do on Google, and then you are presented with a bunch of pins. Essentially you pick the one that sticks out the most to you and you get sent to their website.
Take a look at Pinterest’s website ‘All about Pinterest’ if you need a little more info about what Pinterest is all about.
Why do you need Pinterest?
PINTEREST IS KEY FOR BLOGGERS!
A lot of successful bloggers use Pinterest as their main source of traffic. How insane is that! They get 1000+ views on their blog a day just from people clicking on their pins. Carly gets 200,000+ views a month for Pinterest which is something I could only dream off. So many bloggers are able to make blogging their full-time profession due to Pinterest and getting the views!
Getting clicks is what converts into sales and money if you are looking to monetise your blog.
That is why understanding Pinterest and creating pins is so so important if you want to make something out of your blog.
What is Pinteresting Strategies? – What’s included in the course?
Pinteresting Strategies is a course that goes through Carly’s technique for pinning. She explains how she gets 200,000+ views to her blog per month which is absoltly insane.
She doesn’t use Tailwind which is something I was looking for as Tailwind costs £100+ a year to use. I was looking for a more manual pinning method.
Carly’s course goes through every single detail that you need to understand to make Pinterest a decent source on income. Se uses a mix of videos and text with images so everything is explained super well with examples.
How amazing that you can invest $57 into a course and get so much out of it!
Here’s what’s included in the course:
- Getting started on the platform
- To understand if a niche is a “good” Pinterest niche – or not
- How the Pinterest algorithm actually works
- SEO (search engine optimization) for Pinterest
- How to create pins that get clicks
- New pins VS “fresh” pins – semantics won’t matter after you take this course!
- Do followers still matter?
- What Pinterest Analytics are telling you
- What you can learn about your Pinterest traffic via Google Analytics
- Should you create video pins?
- Do group boards still work in 2020?
- What kind of photos perform BEST on the platform
- What to do if your account gets blocked
You get all of this included in the course which you can go through at your own pace. You are able to jump around the course and use it how you like. She regularly updated the course when the algorithm changes so you can always be getting the most out of Pinterest.
ADDITIONALLY: Along with the course, you get 15 FREE Pinterest Templates created by Carly so you are all set to go!

Who is this course for?
If you are debating whether Pinterest Strategies is the right thing for you then look no futher:
- The course is suitable for bloggers who are looking to get more blog views or who haven’t had much luck with Pinterest so far
- small business who are looking to sell their products
- any bloggers looking to sell products eg. eBooks
- Pinterest users who want to move away from Tailwind
- Complete newbies to Pinterest – but not new to blogging (You are recommended to have at least 25 blog posts so that you have links to add to the pins).

Pros and Cons of the course
Pros
Reasonable price
The course is an amazing price for what you get included. You get set up to kill the Pinterest game! It costs less than Tailwind does and it teaches you a much more sufficient pinning method.
Detailed – you get what you pay for
The amount of information is incredible! I have seen some Pinterest courses worth over $100 so getting Carlys for only $57 is such an amazing deal. The course goes through so much detail that you can follow it whether you are a beginner or more advanced. Or somewhere in the middle like me!
Text and videos
Sometimes reading lots and lots of text can be annoying and you don’t really take it in. Which is why Pinteresting Strategies is great because you can play the videos where Carly takes you through demos of what you should be doing.
Constantly updated
The course is updated when something changes to Carly finds a better way to do something. This shows how much effort Carly puts into her courses and how much she wants to help everyone the best way she can. She is following the algorithm so that we don’t have to!
She basically does all the hard work for you!
Cons
Can be overwhelming
The only downside of the course I would say is that if you are a complete beginner then the course can seem a little overwhelming. But if you take it section by section you will be just fine.
My results
So I started Carly’s course in May 2020. These results came about in August 2020. I only started my Pinterest account in April 2020. It does take between 6-12 months of a new account for Pinterest to acknowledge it.
In my first few months of blogging I was able to double my pages views from 2000 to 4000 views per month due to Pinterest.
Pinterest is currently bringing me in more traffic than the likes of Twitter and other social media platforms.
So just wait it out and keep working hard!
As you can see on the graph above, I started Carly’s Pinterest Course in May. She stats clearly that it can take up to 6 months before you start seeing results on your pins. Occasionally you may see instant results but that is happening less and less with the changing algorithms.
My Pinterest clearly starts to bring in the most people in September which is almost 5 months after I started implementing Carly’s strategies.
Overall thoughts: Is it worth it? – The Big Question
There is no doubt about it I 100% think Carly’s course is worth it. If you are a blogger, then pinterets is a gold mine for views but you need to understand how to use it properly.
When I first started out, I was sceptical about putting my own money into my blog. But you have to make that jump in order to get somewhere. people don;t give away their secrets of success for free so sometimes its worth it to invest in yourself.

Brilliant review Amber. I keep saying it but Pinterest is just so much work, Work I don’t have the time to put in which is foolish as I know it could pay off. I am away next week so I think I will spend some time reading and researching and completing the courses I have already purchased x

This is actually so useful as a blogger who rarely uses Pinterest for their blog. I’ve been reading a lot of resources like this lately for research. Looks like I may have to purchase this course or a similar one. Thanks for the helpful review!

This actually looks super interesting! I’ve always been skeptical about online courses geared towards social media, because I feel like they can often promise so much and then not deliver.
The difference in your stats says it all here though, that’s such amazing growth! You should be super proud. I may have to give this course a look when payday next comes around.
