If your foot is in quite a bit of pain but has no swelling yet, then consider applying a heat source to it. Something like a hot water bottle will help greatly.

At the same time, you want a supportive fit to your feet so that you’re able to walk in the shoe while aiding your feet as you go about the day. That way, you’re less likely to be in discomfort at the end of a long day.
Try to lose weight if you’re overweight
A reason why you might feel discomfort in your foot is that you’re overweight. You might find that losing some weigh makes a big difference to the pain you’re feeling in one of your foot or both.
It might not always be the answer but it could be something you look at doing to see if it does make a difference or not.

Seeking out a podiatrist is a good idea when it comes to your foot pain. Pain in the bottom of foot could be an indication of something that needs attention via a professional.
